PEBL Hub is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with data protection laws including GDPR.
What We Collect
Researcher Accounts
- Username, full name, email address
- Account type and billing information
- Study and data management information
Participant Data
- Pseudonymized participant IDs (provided by researchers)
- Cognitive test results
- Session metadata (browser fingerprint for duplicate detection)
- We do NOT collect: Participant names, emails, or personally identifiable information
How We Use Data
- Researchers: Manage accounts, provide platform services, billing
- Participants: Store test results for researcher download only
- We never sell data to third parties
- Participant data is only accessible to the researcher who created the study
Data Storage & Security
Server Location
- Location: Linode US-East datacenter (Newark, NJ)
- GDPR Compliant: Yes, with appropriate safeguards
- All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS 1.3)
- Passwords hashed using bcrypt
- Firewalls and access controls
- Daily encrypted backups
Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access your data (download from account dashboard)
- Rectify incorrect data (update in account settings)
- Erase your data (account deletion feature)
- Data portability (CSV export available)
- Object to processing (contact us)
Data Retention
- Active accounts: Retained while account is active
- Participant data: Retained until researcher deletes study
- Backups: 30-day rolling backups, then auto-deleted
Cookies
- Session cookies for authentication (required)
- No tracking cookies or third-party analytics
- Browser fingerprinting only for duplicate participant detection
Service Providers
- Hosting: Linode/Akamai (infrastructure)
- Payment: Stripe (credit card processing - see Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Email: Hover SMTP (transactional emails only)
